There are plenty of great radio programmes in store to keep listeners entertained on RTÉ Radio 1 over Christmas, whether you're driving home for Christmas or snuggling up in front of the fire.
Stay tuned to Radio 1 from 5.15pm on Christmas Eve, Wednesday December 24, for Driving Home with Maxi as she'll be playing the most loved festive tunes. Then on Christmas morning John Creedon will get the day off to a great start with the best tunes from 11am.
Next up, Derek Mooney presents the 11th Mooney Tunes Concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra featuring listeners' requests for pieces of music that have a special place in their hearts. The perfect accompaniment to Christmas dinner, mince pies and mulled wine.
In the afternoon John Murray will bring us the wonderful music from A Murray Christmas Concert which takes place on Wednesday, December 17 in Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin. The concert and programme will feature music from many artists on the A Murray Christmas 2 album, and all proceeds raised from the concert and album will go to the charity Aware.
