In a heartwarming holiday special, Thank GAA It's 2014 speaks to Kilkenny star and 2014 Hurler of the Year Richie Hogan about his award-winning year, his memories of his own experience at Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin and the opportunity to 'give back' to some of his biggest fans. After a year which saw Hogan inspire 'The Cats' to yet another historic All-Ireland victory, he will spread Christmas cheer among Crumlin's patients and staff. For Hogan, it is retracing familiar steps.

The Boy in the Dress, 6.55pm, BBC One

Model Kate Moss and Jennifer Saunders are among the cast of this one-hour adaptation of David Walliams' first children's book. The Boy in the Dress is the story of Dennis, a 12-year-old boy who lives in an ordinary house, in an ordinary street, in an ordinary town, but he feels different. His mum has gone off with a roofer and he lives with his dad and brother - everything is boring and grey. Dennis feels like he wants to escape to some sort of magical world, and discovers it in the most unexpected place - Raj's newsagent, where he spots something very interesting on the cover of a fashion magazine...

The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Channel 4, 9.00pm

The man with the most alarming but endearing laugh on telly, Jimmy Carr, tests a panel of slebs to see who knows the most about 2014. Who purred down the phone in September? What became the most tweeted-about sporting event ever in July? And why did Bono have to say sorry to the whole world in October? Celebrating the end of 2014, Jimmy challenges Richard Ayoade, David Mitchell, Mel B, Micky Flanagan, Sarah Millican and Kevin Bridges to battle it out to win the coveted Big Fat Quiz crown. Helping Jimmy out along the way are the likes of Michael Palin, Rio Ferdinand, The Inbetweeners, and Lily Allen, and some of the year's most memorable names drop by to lend a hand in this alternative review of the year.
