With Holding Out for a Hero continuing tonight, Monday December 15, at 9:00pm on RTÉ2, here's a sneak peek at host Neil Delamere's take on Fionn MacCumhaill, the Salmon of Knowledge and the Fianna.
The team behind the show says Monday's episode sees Delamere take us "beyond the Salmon of Knowledge and the Giant's Causeway to get under the skin of Fionn and his band of juvenile delinquent pals - the Fianna.
"Neil is put through the gruelling warrior tests as described in the thousand-year-old stories about Fionn and the Fianna - he'll have to jump over and under branches and be chased through the forest by some very hairy men, before he's buried in the ground and a load of spears get chucked at him in a prime example of some good old-fashioned, third-century fun."
