Legendary Swedish actress Anita Ekberg, immortalised by her performance in Federico Fellini's 1960 film La Dolce Vita, has died aged 83, according to several reports in the Italian media.
The long-time resident of Italy, died in a hospital outside Rome, according to the website of the daily newspaper La Repubblica.
Ekberg took Hollywood by storm after winning the Miss Sweden title and she went on to make more than 20 films such as Blood Alley and War and Peace.
She was also romantically linked to many of Hollywood's leading actors. Errol Flynn, Gary Cooper, Yul Brynner and Frank Sinatra were rumoured to be among her lovers.
