Gemma Arterton backs Idris Elba for Bond

Quantum of Solace's Gemma Arterton is the latest star to back Idris Elba as the next James Bond.

Speaking to UK radio station Magic FM, the actress said, "I think Idris has got the cheek, he's great with action, he's funny but he's suave at the same time, he's sexy and he's black and I think we should have a black Bond.

"I just did a film with Idris and I was like 'You should be James Bond'."

Will Smith, Kanye West and Pierce Brosnan are among the other names on Team Elba, hoping the Luther star will take over from Daniel Craig as 007.
