The three day creative and technology event, Digital Biscuit, was launched last night by In America director Jim Sheridan in Dublin's Irish Film Institute.
"I introduced Digital Biscuit for the year 2014", Sheridan told RTÉ TEN last night, "I was there last year for the inaugural one, it was great fun."
Speaking about the Executive Director of Screen Directors Guild of Ireland, Digital Biscuit founder Birch Hamilton, he said: "[She]'s a genius, I love her. They've got some great people here like the producers of Borgen [TV show].
"They've got the Alexa people [creators of advanced digital cameras] and the Arri, it's really fascinating stuff. I'm delighted to be here."
Sheridan has some exciting news of his own, he is planning a new Irish-set film: "I've got Sheriff Street as soon as I can make it. I'm doing something for the Weinstein brothers [Bob and Harvey]. I'm doing one of the Ten Commandments, I think 'Don't Take the Lord's Name in Vain' which probably suits Ireland, seeing as everybody curses all the time!"
