The late comedian Rodney Dangerfield, star of Caddyshack and Back to School, will be honoured with a comedy school in his name.

Dangerfield died in 2004, aged 82 and he will be awarded an honorary posthumous degree by officials at Manhattanville College on Saturday, May 17.

The college website reads: "Rodney Dangerfield will be going "Back to School" as Manhattanville College will be establishing The Rodney Dangerfield Institute for the Study of Comedy.

The statement also pays tribute to Dangerfield's famous catchphrase, "I don't get no respect!," adding: "He will also be awarded a posthumous honorary doctorate, finally giving him some 'respect.'"
