MTV is trying to attract Beyoncé as host, without Jay Z, for this year's Video Music Awards.
According to the Daily News, the singer will be "all over the show" as she attempts to re-establish herself as a solo artist.
The Video Music Awards will take place at at the Forum in Inglewood, California on August 24. MTV want Beyoncé to sing a medley of hits from her Beyoncé album, which she released on iTunes last year without an overt publicity campaign.
The Daily News quotes a source who says that "Bey is going to be all over the show. MTV is still working everything out, but they want her to open the show with a big production, which has still not been announced."
The newspaper also reports that MTV did not extend the host invitation to Jay Z. Beyoncé leads the VMA nominees with eight bids, including Video of the Year for Drunk in Love, her collaboration with husband Jay Z.
Rappers Iggy Azalea and Eminem follow her with seven each.
