Michelle Keegan has opened up about the career pressure she feels since leaving Coronation Street.
The actress, who left her role as Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap last summer, is "nervous" about audience reaction to her next role in the BBC drama Ordinary Lies.
She told the Daily Star: "I felt there was so much pressure after leaving Corrie. I knew I had to make the right decision about my first role. Everyone was waiting to see what I did and getting ready to judge me if I made a mistake.
"I am really nervous about how it does in the ratings. I do feel a lot of pressure, but I just hope it does well. I know the producers and BBC are very happy with the outcome so hopefully the viewers will like it too."
Keegan added that she wanted her Ordinary Lies character Tracy to be different to Tina McIntyre, who she played for six years.
She explained: "There are a few similarities to Tina as she is a young, northern, feisty girl but that was inevitable. The storyline is completely different and gritty.
"I was conscious of making Tracy different from Tina. They kept wanting me to put my hair up in a bun and I didn't want to, because that's what Tina did.
"I was constantly aware in the beginning of trying to do things differently from Tina, but as filming went on I got so involved in the role I didn't think about it."
Ordinary Lies begins on March 17 at 9pm on BBC One.
