Irish Pictorial Weekly, RTÉ One, 9.30pm
Back for a third series of all-too accurate political satire, Irish Pictorial Weekly has plenty to fresh meat to fillet over the next six weeks. We've already chortled to send-ups of Angela Merkel, Enda Kenny, Michael Noonan, Anne Doyle, Gerry Adams, civil servant committees, court reporters and, of course, RTÉ presenters. Expect a lot more of that and an array of new characters including cavemen, Phil Hogan, and people who press buttons. All from the acid pens and with the performing talents of Barry Murphy, John Colleary, Tara Flynn, Colum McDonnell, Michael O' Sullivan, Eleanor Tiernan, Paul Howard, Paul Woodful and Jay Stanbridge.

The Strypes: The Best Thing About Cavan, BBC Two, 10.00pm
Julien Temple has made excellent films about Joe Strummer, The Sex Pistols and Wilko Johnson in his long and prolific career so Cavan r 'n' b terriers The Strypes are in exalted company indeed in his new film. Temple traces the band's evolution from toddlerhood, when they first began playing together, through the hard work and twists of fate that have catapulted them straight out of their small rural hometown to screaming crowds.

The Voice of Ireland, RTÉ One, 6.30pm
It's the first of this year's live shows as the contestants finally take to the live stage in Dublin's Helix for a chance to win a recording contract with Universal Records.
