Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is in negotiations to star alongside Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike in Deep Blue Good-By, an adaptation of John D MacDonald's Travis McGee mystery-adventure of the same name.
Self-proclaimed "salvage consultant" McGee is the hero of 21 novels by MacDonald. He recovers people's property for a fee, with action and romance along the way.
The Hollywood Reporter says the James Mangold-directed film will see Afghanistan veteran McGee on the hunt for stolen sapphires, with Dinklage set to play a mathematician who becomes his right hand man.
