The New Year is set to begin with a bang in Chester for Hollyoaks fans.

Brendan Brady plots to have his father Seamus killed.
Last week fans caught a first glimpse of Fintan McKeown's character Seamus Brady as he arrived unannounced in Chester, catching Brendan (Emmett J Scanlan) and half-sister Cheryl (Bronagh Waugh) off-guard.
During the latest series of Hollyoaks Later, viewers learned that Brendan's father abused him as a child. Brendan's fear and hatred of his father has never left him and viewers will see Brendan go to desperate measures to keep his father away from him, and to never see him again.
Brendan enlists the help of Joel (Andrew Still) in a murder plot. Initially Joel refuses but feels he is being forced to go along with it.
He is then pressured into being the sole hitman.
In scenes set to air in early January, Joel attacks Seamus with a baseball bat before dragging him away to a nearby disused shack.
With Seamus unconscious, Joel pours petrol all around his victim and the shack, before setting it alight.
The scenes will air from January 3 on Channel 4.
