Irish actor Colin Morgan has been cast in a new BBC One drama series.
The Merlin star will appear alongside Gabriel Byrne in the forthcoming detective serial called Quirke.
The three-part series will see Byrne play the title character - a sombre Dublin pathologist who solves crimes in the 1950s.
Morgan will appear in the third episode as a character called Jimmy Minor.
The role will mark Morgan's first television series since Merlin concluded on December 24.
Quirke has been filming on location in Ireland since November and is expected to air later in 2013.
