Mrs Brown's Boys picked up the award for best situation comedy at last night's National Television Awards in London.
Brendan O'Carroll is going to have to clear another spot in the awards cabinet as Mrs Brown's Boys picked up the gong for Best Situation Comedy at the National Television Awards which are voted for by the British public. The statue will sit alongside the IFTA, BAFTA and TV Choice award which the comedy has already received.
EastEnders' June Brown presented the award to Dublin native alongside several of the cast, many of whom are his own family including his wife, his sister and his daughter who had made the trip to London's O2.
During his acceptance O'Carroll joked: "The only person that's not in the show is my mother and that's because she is dead."
Mrs Brown's Boys was watched by over 1.8 million Irish viewers at Christmas over two nights on RTÉ and over 17m when it was screened on the BBC.
