Chris O'Dowd’s HBO trailer released

American cable company HBO has released the first trailer for Chris O'Dowd's new comedy Family Tree.

The Moone Boy creator, IT Crowd and Bridesmaids actor has teamed with This Is Spinal Tap and Best in Show director Christopher Guest for an eight-part first season, which is being filmed on both sides of the Atlantic.

Family Tree stars O'Dowd as Tom Chadwick, a 30-year-old who embarks on a journey of self-discovery and along the way meets a number of eccentric characters from his family's past.

Fred Willard from Anchorman and Tom Bennett (PhoneShop) will also appear in the improvised sitcom, which will air on BBC Two in the UK and premiere in the US in May.
