Kendrick Lamar has won big at this year's BET Awards, including the gongs for Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best New Artist.

Kendrick Lamar has won big at this year's BET Awards, including the gongs for Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best New Artist.

He was also honoured alongside Drake and 2 Chainz with the Best Collaboration award for A$AP Rocky's F*****' Problems. Drake also took home the gongs for Video of the Year and Viewers' Choice for Started From the Bottom.

Rihanna won the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist award, while Miguel was named the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.

Nicky Minaj was named the Best Female Hip-Hop artist, while Kerry Washington and Jamie Foxx were awarded Best Actress and Actor respectively.

A host of stars performed at the awards ceremony, which was held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Among the performers taking to the stage were Justin Timberlake, Snoop Lion, R. Kelly, Pharell Williams, Mariah Carey, Janelle Monae, Erykah Badu and Ciara.
