Kevin Bacon drama The Following has cast former NYPD Blue star James McDaniel in a recurring role for its upcoming second season.
According to TV Line, the 55-year-old actor - currently in Orange Is the New Black on Netflix - will play FBI agent Ken Phillips, who heads a task force out of New York.
McDaniel is best known for his long-running role as Lt Arthur Fancy on NYPD Blue as the hugely successful show ran from 1993 to 2001.
His more recent credits include stints on The Good Wife, Detroit 1-8-7 as well as Orange Is the New Black.
McDaniel joins new cast additions Valerie Cruz (Homeland), Connie Nielsen (Boss) and Sam Underwood (Dexter) in The Following's next run, which is set one year after the events of season one's finale.
Season two of The Following began filming last Monday (August 19) and will be broadcast in 2014.
