Pat Shortt has revealed he loved making his radio play debut in the ensemble cast for Mike Finn's new RTÉ Radio 1 drama, It's a Worthless Life.
Speaking to RTÉ TEN, Shortt explained that given Finn's title it's little wonder, that the play is "…a bit like the story of It's a Wonderful Life."
He added: "I've always wanted to do a radio drama because I love radio and everything about it but I've never done a drama where you got together with a bunch of actors and worked on a script and the whole lot and it's great fun."
Another well known actor, Paul Ronan, who starred in a number of Radio 1 dramas, including last year's final party of John Boorman's trilogy of satires on Modern Ireland, AfterLife, in which his daughter Saoirse also starred, added: "I have to say, this is the most fun I've had so far.
"In rehearsals, when you're in a room with Pat Shortt and Owen Roe, it's just absolutely hilarious."
It's a Worthless Life will air on RTÉ Radio 1 at 8pm on Sunday December 15.
