Liberties Belle Imelda May is among the artists who cover Elton John's classics on the 40th anniversary re-release of his landmark double album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

May sings Your Sister Can't Twist (But She Can Rock 'N Roll) while Ed Sheeran interprets Candle In The Wind on the new reissue.

Also included is a 1973 DVD documentary entitled Elton John And Bernie Taupin Say Goodbye To Norma Jean And Other Things, and live performances from Hammersmith Odeon in London.

The repackage comes in a number of formats -  single-CD remaster, a 2-CD deluxe edition or the 4-CD/1-DVD super-deluxe edition that includes the DVD documentary. The super deluxe version also features a 100-page hardback book and two CDs' containing live tracks.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was recorded in 17 days, including the mixing at Château d'Hérouville, a studio near Paris which John had dubbed "Honky Château", the title of his previous album.

The album features the tried-and-trusted unit of John on vocals and piano, Davey Johnstone on guitar, Dee Murray on bass and drummer Nigel Olsson who had been playing together since 1971's Madman Across the Water.
