Gemma Atkinson joins Emmerdale

Casualty and Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson has joined the cast of Emmerdale as Carly Hope, the estranged daughter of Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw).

ITV says that Carly has "a string of failed relationships behind her" and "more in common with her seven-times married father than she'd care to admit".

Commenting, Atkinson said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale and I cannot wait to see what's in store for Carly. I hope you all enjoy watching her story unfold."

Atkinson will begin filming this month and will make her Emmerdale debut in March.
