Patrick Dempsey's wife Jillian Fink has filed for divorce after 15 years of marriage.
The couple confirmed the news to People, saying in a joint statement: "It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage .
"Our primary concern remains the well-being of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family's privacy at this very sensitive time."
The Grey's Anatomy star and makeup artist Fink are parents to 12-year-old daughter Tallulah and seven-year-old twin sons Sullivan and Darby.
Fink cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, and asked for joint custody of their three children.
The couple tied the knot in 1999.
