Pierce Brosnan's Malibu home caught fire on Wednesday evening (February 11). It took 50 fire-fighters 35 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
Brosnan was at home at the time with his wife, journalist Keely Shaye Smith, and their two teenage sons Dylan and Paris. No one was injured during the incident and it has been reported that the fire was restricted to the garage on the side of the property.
Michael Pittman of the Los Angeles County Fire Department told the New York Daily News newspaper that the fire started at approximately 9:48pm and it took 50 fire-fighters to extinguish it.
Brosnan's neighbour, NBC photo-journalist Kenny Holmes, revealed details of the fire on his Twitter account.
Along with photos of the 61-year-old actor outside his home, he tweeted: ''Heavy smoke & fire last night from the garage of Pierce Brosnan's Malibu home. No injuries. Damage to garage/bedroom. (sic)''
Brosnan is Neighbours with fellow actors including Danny DeVito and Dustin Hoffman.
