Jack O'Connell for Foster's Money Monster

Jack O'Connell has confirmed that he will star in Jodie Foster's upcoming movie Money Monster.

The Unbroken star revealed the news at last night's BAFTAs (February 8), after winning the EE Rising Star award at the event.

He told Digital Spy and other press outlets: "I might have done myself a bit of injustice in the next role because he's an angry youngster again.

"But saying that it is New York, it is modern day, and it's opposite George Clooney - so I wasn't going to pass up that opportunity at the risk of seeming like a one-trick pony."

Money Monster is about a bombastic television personality Lee Gates (Clooney), whose show is taken hostage live on air by an outraged gunman (O'Connell).

As the public watches on, Gates must keep himself alive and uncover the truth behind a tangle of big money lies with the help of his producer, played by Julia Roberts.
