The chart topper won Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album for In the Lonely Hour and Song of the Year and Record of the Year for his hit single Stay With Me.

At the winners press conference 22-year-old Smith was asked if anything could top winning four Grammy Awards. He said: "A boyfriend would be nice. I don't think it would top this actually – and that's the curse I have now for the rest of my life!
Smith dedicated his fourth award of the night to his ex-boyfriend, thanking him for breaking his heart as it contributed to his song-writing and his success. When asked at the press conference what he is looking for in his next relationship Smith jokingly replied: "Patience and someone who can clean these every day for me!
He added: "I do not know what I am looking for and I think the minute I start looking it is not going to come my way.
"I am just looking for some crazy love story."
Smith was also asked what it was like receiving praise from his fellow nominees and peers. He said: "It's incredible. As a huge fan of pop culture I've grown up watching E! News and being obsessed with celebrity culture and when you start to meet everyone you realise that they are just humans.
"They are just very talented humans and it is an honour to be sitting with people like that.
"And I loved sitting next to Rihanna's dress tonight, it was like sitting next to a jellyfish."
