RTÉ's free family event, Road to the Rising, is taking place on Dublin's O'Connell Street on Easter Monday, with a wide range of events on offer to the public.
A couple of weeks ago, a number of familiar RTÉ faces took part in a photo shoot with a difference as they were transported back in time to Ireland 1915.
The purpose of the shoot was to launch the full programme of talks, tours, performances, musical acts, and street activities happening this Easter Monday.
Visitors to the Road to the Rising can choose from over 60 talks and exhibitions and be part of live broadcasts throughout the day.
There will be opportunities to explore all aspects of social, political and cultural life during this period plus there will be a number of well-known RTÉ presenters there to meet. In addition archivists and historians from the National Library will assess your Easter Rising memorabilia and answer any queries you have about this fascinating period in history.
You can also explore vintage displays and a host of performers as they re-imagine the capital in 1915, with both vintage weddings and funerals taking place. There will be over 300 actors in costume to help bring visitors back 100 years to 1915 Ireland.
This is a free ticketed event, taking place around the GPO on Dublin's O'Connell Street however booking is essential for certain events. For further information, to book tickets and to find out what else is happening in this area of Dublin, visit rte.ie/1916

A number of restaurants, venues and coffee shops will tie in with the theme of the day too, serving eats and treats from the 1915 era.
For those who are unable to come to O'Connell Street on the day, the magic of the event will be brought to audiences through live broadcasts from O'Connell Street including The History Show, Arena, Cormac ag a Cúig on RnaG and coverage on News Now.
