Barbra Streisand will be honoured with the Chaplin Award this year, it has been revealed.
The actress will be presented with the award, which was named after Charlie Chaplin, at the 40th Chaplin Gala in April.
Streisand joins the ranks of prestigious Hollywood stars such as Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese, Dustin Hoffman, Elizabeth Taylor and Alfred Hitchcock who have all previously received the honour. Catherine Deneuve was last year's recipient of the award.
Film Society Lincoln Centre's board chairman Ann Tenenbaum said: "The Board is very excited to have Barbra Streisand as the next recipient of The Chaplin Award. She is an artist whose long career of incomparable achievements is most powerfully expressed by the fact that her acclaimed Yentl was the first full-length feature directed, acted, written and produced by an American woman.
"We welcome her to the list of masterful directors who have been prior recipients of the Chaplin Award Tribute."
In her illustrious career Streisand has won two Oscars, eight Grammys, five Emmy Awards and a Special Tony Award.
