Father Ted creator Graham Linehan rang 2fm by mistake and ended up having an impromptu chat on air with Ryan Tubridy.
Linehan - who co-wrote and directed new sitcom The Walshes, which begins tonight (Thursday) on RTÉ One - was supposed to be interviewed by Ray D'arcy on Today FM.
"Just had the best experience," Linehan tweeted. "I was supposed to be on a phone-in show in Ireland & I rang the wrong show and they PUT ME ON ANYWAY".
Feeling bemused after chatting to Turbridy rather than D'arcy, he contacted the press officer who set up the interview. He later tweeted about the conversation:
"After putting the phone down I complained to the press person. "What was the point of that?" "What?" she said. "You haven't been on yet!"
The Walshes is on RTÉ One tonight (March 6) at 10.15pm.
