The Meteor Music Awards and dramas American Crime and Poldark are our top TV picks for today.
Meteor Music Awards, 10.50pm RTÉ2
RTÉ2 is airing highlights from the 10th annual Meteor Music Awards tonight, which will give viewers a peek at the night's shenanigans. The one-hour show is presented by Eoghan McDermott and Blathnaid Treacy, and will feature exclusive interviews with Hozier, Sinead O'Connor and U2's The Edge and Adam Clayton. There will be performances from Delorentos, James Vincent McMorrow, The Riptide Movement and We Cut Corners, all recorded live at Vicar St in Dublin.
Poldark, 9.00pm BBC One
It was a huge hit in the 70's, and tonight Poldark returns to our screens in a shiny new BBC remake. Dubliner Aidan Turner takes the leading role this time around, who is best known for appearing in The Hobbit trilogy. The show is set in Cornwall in 1793, as Ross Poldark returns from war to find his father dead, the estate in ruins and his lover engaged to his cousin. He resolves to find a new life amidst the ruins of his once noble legacy.
American Crime, 9.55pm RTÉ2
The gripping new series American Crime debuts on RTÉ2 tonight. The crime drama, which was created, written and directed by Academy Award-winning 12 Years a Slave writer John Ridley, stars the always-excellent Felicity Hoffman and Timothy Hutton, so you know you're in good hands. The drama picks up in the aftermath of a racially-charged murder in a Californian city, and follows the subsequent trial, told from the points of view of all involved.
